Crest Team Leader Tasks
× This website contains unofficial information to help us do a better job. Refer to the Brighton employee manual or your supervisor for official information.
- Confirm all morning sweeps are assigned and completed.
- Confirm the top area is set up correctly:
- Confirm toboggan counts.
- Confirm egress gate is narrow.
- Confirm UAC sign shows the current
avalanche forecast.
- Confirm avalanche hazard "flip" sign is correct.
- Confirm transceiver tester is functioning.
- Confirm other signs, rope lines, toboggans, etc are set up correctly.
- Daily Log:
- Initiate daily log.
- Punch the assignment sheets (backwards) and put in binder.
- Complete the top shack checklist.
- Log entries should be: time, event (walk-in, 10-50, transport-only [w/reason]), location, age, gender, skier/snowboarder, probable injury, and patroller name.
- When the Millicent North Boundary morning sweep reports the SolBright status (open/closed and groomed/ungroomed), call the Sports Desk (ext. 220) and tell them the status. Record the status in the log.
- Assign raising/lowering of tower pads as needed.
- Assign and log speed control as needed.
- Assign and log 1100 and 1400 terrain park checks.
- At 1400 on Saturdays, confirm that the Swing Shift patrollers arrive and are signed in.
- At 1500:
- Close the egress gate.
- Contact Milly, Snake, and Western (preferably by phone) and send them additional sweepers if required. Milly and Snake should have four and Western should have five (and preferably a Super for each). Avoid sending swing-shift patrollers because they'll be needed on Crest.
- If there is night skiing:
- Supervise light checks (this requires ~three people).
- Record the times the light checks are completed in the night log book.
- When light checks are complete, call, "Brighton 46, all lights are on."
- If no night skiing:
- Assign closing sweeps.
- Clean the top shack.
- Record the time that each lift's sweepers and top-ops are down and clear. (See closing tables.)
- When all sweeps are down, announce, "Day sweeps are down and clear."
