Chairlift Downloading

- Overview
- The guest must not be sick or injured (not even a minor injury).
- Complete a Transportation Only Form before downloading the guest (Edge Auditor, choose New Report > Documents > Transport Only Form).
- You can take up to three guests with you. Leave four empty chairs between loaded chairs.
- Equipment
- Leave your ski equipment at the top of the lift.
- Carry the guest's equipment.
- Loading
- Have the lift operator phone the base terminal and tell them your chair number.
- Load the chairlift per the lift operator's instructions (they will stop the lift).
- Instruct the guest to lift his or her feet over the stop gate.
- Lower the safety bar after passing the stop gate.
- Unloading
- When you are a few towers from the base of the chairlift, call, "<chairlift name> base, this is ski patrol. I am downloading a guest and am at tower #x."
- Verbally call out to the lift operator if they don't reply to your radio transmission.
- Raise the safety bar as you approach the base terminal.
- Remind the guest to raise his or her feet as you approach the base terminal.
- Escort the guest from the unloading area.
- Reminders
- Explain the process to the guest.
- If the guest is a minor, ensure the guest will make contact with his or her party.
- Be polite. Thank the guest for visiting Brighton.
- When you return to the top of the lift (without skis), the chairlift will not stop.
