Out of Area Rescues
× This website contains unofficial information to help us do a better job. Refer to the Patrol Manual or your supervisor for official information.

Handling out-of-area rescues:

  1. Immediately contact the lead patroller (e.g., Max, Todd, etc).
  2. Do not go out of area without their permission.
  3. The lead patroller, or Brighton Dispatch when instructed to do so, will call 9-1-1 and say, "This is Brighton Ski Patrol. We have a report of an out-of-area incident and need to talk to a deputy." (This wording is approximate, but you must ask to speak to a deputy. They will give us permission to leave the area.)
  4. Brighton Dispatch must log the names and times when patrollers leave and return to Brighton.
