Separated parties
× This website contains unofficial information to help us do a better job. Refer to the Patrol Manual or your supervisor for official information.
- Write down the details from the reporting party (age, gender, skier/boarder, name, helmet color, jacket color, pants color, location last seen, time last seen).
-
Make a pre-announcement: "Attention all radio units and lift bases. Stand by for information on a separated party."
- After a short delay, give the information. Speak slowly. "The separated party is a <age> year old <boy/girl/man/woman> <skier/snowboarder> named <name>. S/he is wearing a <color> helmet, <color> jacket, and <color> pants. S/he was last seen <location> at <time>. The reporting party is <their location>."
-
Remain with the reporting party until the subject is found or get the reporting party's phone number and insist that they call you when the person is located.
